Matthews is working with some of the premier vineyards in Washington State. Our search for vineyards that have the ability to produce fruit that we think exemplifies Washington, has led us to a diverse selection across the state. We source the majority of the Red Wine fruit from the Red Mountain appellation, while sourcing all of our Syrah from the Royal Slope. We are always looking and working with new vineyards throughout the state to further our goals to produce class defining wines.
Located in the most famous appellation in Washington State the Red Mountain AVA. Hedges Estate vineyard produces deep, richly textured wines. Always known for it's Cabernet Sauvignon, this vineyard is quickly showing that it can produce Merlot and Cabernet Franc almost equally as well. This site has been a large part of Matthews wines in the past and will continue to be for the foreseable future.
Located on the western side of Red Mountain, Klipsun vineyard produces tremendous Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Producing wines with powerfull aromatics as well as structure, Klipsun always find it's way into Matthews final blends.
