As a graduate of the University of Washington, Cliff has lived his entire life in the Pacific Northwest. He is married to Diane [Powell] , his wife of 38 years, who is also involved in the daily operations of the winery and event center. Together, they have 3 grown sons, Bryan, Jeff and Scott, who as a family group - help with the various aspects of the winery - including sales, marketing, events, technology and of course, wine tasting!
Cliff is key part of the partnership team that operates the winery business. He is specifically involved in overall winery management, strategic & tactical planning, winery events, operations, technology and facilities. His passion for wine, as well as the event managment business, plays well into the requirements of Matthews Estate both now and into the future.
One thing that excites him and the rest of the managment team is their passion for giving back to the community, and as a result Matthews has become well known for its support of many local auctions benefiting those organizations in need.
He is excited about the future of the winemaking community in Woodinville and believes that Matthews will continue to create wine that embodies the best characteristics of the vineyards where the grapes were grown.
